The Two Year Old Aunt
Whenever anyone becomes an aunt or an uncle they get so excited and start thinking that they're so cool but old! I'm okay with the excited and cool part but you have to excuse me about the old part. If you consider yourself old because you have just become an aunt (or uncle if you're a guy off course) then you are probably crazy. I became an aunt when I was two! Yeah! I know that was exactly my reaction too! It took me a while to digest the idea but right now I just love the fact that my nieces and nephews are very close to my age. It's really something different and special I would say. We get along and do different activities together, we are like friends. The best part though is that being their aunt gives me some type of privilege to yell at them. However, they do bug me and think that they are so funny when they call me "aunty" in front of strangers. Here's when people turn around with their mouths wide open and start saying "No way! There's no way! Really? You are their aunt? That's so Weird!" Well let me tell you, Yes Way! and the funny part is that many people don't believe that I am their aunt. One time someone wanted proof! Isn't that hilarious?
You're probably thinking why is this girl telling us that she became an aunt when she was two? Who cares?
The idea is that they were the ones who helped me learn English. My nephews and niece helped me learn way more than the books and the school. They were always there speaking to me in English which helped me speak the correct way. They made me get used to listening to them in English, they made me listen to songs in English, they made me watch shows and movies in English, they made me read books in English and they made me speak in English. Plus, whenever I would make a mistake, my niece would point it out and correct it on the spot. I want to thank them and tell them that I would have never been able to become an English teacher without them. They helped and supported me till the end.

Aww you touched my heart. I will never become an aunt, but I really like the way you described the feeling. It is so great having family members as your friends; that means they will never stab you in the back. Also, I really like how you linked being an "aunty" to your experience in learning English. Having exposure to comprehensible input is the key right? As Krashen and Chomsky say :)

Yes, the same case was happened with my Mom. she became an Aunt when she was 4 years old. the exciting part is that my second cousins and me are of the same age.most of the time, the strangers emphasize that my second cousins are my first cousins. usually, they want proves and explanations to be convinced. But as you said, it's really something different and special to be an Auntie when you are only two!
